Anniversary

Yesterday was Patrick and I's first year wedding anniversary. My mom came over after work on Friday to watch Cale overnight. Patrick and I went to ride go-karts then went out to eat. It was a really fun night. The hotel we stayed at had a giant jacuzzi in our room, it was awesome and felt really good because those go-karts are hard to drive and they really hurt your arms and shoulders. When we woke up on Saturday there was like 5 inches of snow on the ground! I didn't even know it was supposed to snow! It was crazy! After shoveling off the car I told Patrick we should've gone to vegas again. Mom said Cale couldn't have been any more perfect. She said he never cried and they had alot of fun. That made me happy. I always expect the worst.
We just had a new bid for work. I got a new, pretty cool shift! Starting in the middle of March, I will work from 10am to 6:30. This should give me more time to spend with my family. I am pretty excited!
I can't really think of anything else that is new. I will try to post some pictures and videos next time!

Parched

I am bored. I was just sitting on the computer being sucked into Myspace. So, I thought I would write a blog. The family went to a parent group meeting at the CCVI today. It was pretty awesome. They watch your kid for you AND they provide dinner! It is really cool because we get to meet other families who have kids with eye problems...most of which are way worse off than Cale. I think my mom is going to go to the next one. That is exciting! I like it when she hangs out with me. Other than that, nothing much is going on. I am waiting for Cale to fall asleep so I can go to Walmart. He is in his crib hitting his little lights and sound fish tank making it turn on and off. It sounds pretty funny. Man, I am thirsty...
wow, that picture is huge!

Day to day

The awesome weather here is coming to an end. It has been in the 60's and 70's for about a week or so and now it has been raining since last night. Nasty, wet, and cold now.

I got my new elliptical machine this morning! That way I can excercise at home. I am so excited! I am ready to shed these last few baby pounds and then some!

We took Cale to CCVI (children's center for the visually impaired) yesterday. We had an appointment to get an assessment. They just held some toys up to see about how far they thought he could see them and what kind of toys he reacted to more. They also told us about the parent groups they have there. They meet once a month, you can bring your kid and they watch them for you, and they feed you! It would be almost like a free date for Patrick and I. I am trying to get FMLA (family medical leave act) for work because it is getting hard to schedule all Cale's appointments for my days off. FMLA would protect me if I called off work, I wouldn't get in trouble. Plus, the CCVI was talking about having a session with Cale once a week. I am totally going to need this FMLA.

I should go get ready for the day....here are a few pictures...

Another update

Cale is being so crazy today! I think his teeth might be hurting him or something because he won't quit crying! Anyway, we went to the doctor today. I was way off on his weight! He only weighs 15 lbs. 12 oz. and he is 26.5 inches long. His head is 17 3/4 inches! That is huge!!! His weight really surprised me because he went to the doctor about a month and a half ago and he weighed 15 lbs. I thought he had grown alot more. Anyway, thats about all I have to report.

Cale Bale revised

This posting is to correct my last posting. It should have read, Cale has rolled over, he did it last night and I missed it.

Cale Bale

Cale went for another eye exam today. His eyes are pretty much the same, nothing has improved except for his tracking. We made an appointment for April 14th to get him fitted for his glasses. The doctor reassured us that with the technology today, his glasses won't be nearly as thick as Patrick's were. That made me happy.
Cale also has a well baby check up tomorrow. I will probably post another blog tomorrow giving his weight and height. I am going to guess that he weighs 20.5 lbs. As for his height, I would say 27 inches. Let's find out how close I am!
He still hasn't rolled over yet.
