So, Cale turns 1 in three days....
I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I decided to take a trip down memory lane to see what I was doing a year ago...according to my blog, I was dialated to a 2 and awaiting Cale's induction. With all the memories and the cute song playing, my eyes began to water. I love all the memories that we have made as a family but I hate the thought of never being able to relive it. For instance, I will never get to see Cale crawl for the first time, and he will never be small enough to fit in his first outfit again. It almost hurts to think of all the things I will miss but it is bittersweet. I will always look forward to the new exciting things Cale will do and see. I want to be there for it all and carry it with me always!
As for an update, Cale is walking about 70% of the time. If he isn't walking unassisted, he is holding on to the furniture and walking. His birthday party is this Sunday at a park here in town. I am pretty excited but not looking forward to making the food and cake. All his toys, he has either outgrown or he got tired of them, so I am really excited for some new toys!
Patrick and I are working as usual. And Shiner is doing well also. Nothing else to report really...same old, same old....

The Scoop
So, here's the latest scoop...
Sunday- Patrick and I were at work and Cale was with his MeMa. She called me and said he started coughing and choking and couldn't breathe for a short moment. She had checked his mouth and nothing was in it. I decided to stay at work. She called me again about an hour later saying he had done it again. I picked up Patrick and we sped home. By the time we had gotten there, he had done it a third time. We talked to our neighbor who is a doctor and she said we should take him to the ER. So, we packed up and went to the ER. After 5 hours there, they did a chest X-Ray and said he was fine. They called it a Random Life Threatening Event and told me to follow up with his doctor the next day.
Monday- I made an appointment for Cale to see his doctor at 10:45. She looked him over and said that babies have a sensitive gag reflex and coughing can send them into a fit of choking. It was probably some flem that started the coughing in the first place.
Tuesday- Patrick and I were about to take Cale to St. Joe to get his pictures taken. We stopped at Sam's Club first and leaving the parking lot, Cale started having a coughing fit so I stopped the car. He then puked all over the place. Grown up puke with heaving and everything! We weren't sure what to do since he acted totally normal after he was done, so we called his doctor and left a message for the nurse. We began our trip to St. Joe and Cale fell asleep in the car. The nurse called us about half way there and said fluids and rest. We were about a mile from the picture place and Cale puked again. We almost cancelled but ended up getting the pictures anyway. He was fine during the rest of the evening.
Wednesday- Cale slept the entire night then got up and had breakfast. We played a little then he went back to bed and took a 4 hour nap. Shortly after he woke up, I had to pick up Patrick from work and Cale almost fell asleep on the way there (15 minutes). Needless to say, he slept ALOT yesterday.
So Patrick is leaving tomorrow for South Bend. He is going to a Notre Dame football game there with his dad. I thought he might like to spend time with me this morning...but no, he is sleeping, even after I asked him to stay up. I am pretty upset right now.
I posted some videos on youtube again. I think 6. I have been slacking but they are really awesome videos. www.youtube.com/carson1985
I can't belive Cale's birthday is in a couplae weeks! Sept. 24th for those of you who can't remember and I am sure you would've asked me. We are having his party at a nearby park on the 27th. I need to get out invites....
Well, Cale wants me to play. I better go!
