My new "job"

I started babysitting to earn a little money while I'm a stay at home mom. I watch 2 kids that belong to ladies I used to work with at the airport. They work the morning shift so they drop their kids off at 3am. One gets picked up at 5:30am so I don't really even have to "watch" her. It's easy money! The other one is with me until a little after 1pm. It's easy some days and really hard other days. He is almost 2, so he can be a little moody sometimes. Hahaha.

Pops

I found out a couple months ago that my dad has lung cancer. He made it seem like he was going to be fine and they were going to start radiation. Well, I found out that he is actually stage 4 and the cancer has spread to his bones. My aunt said he was in really bad shape so we decided to take a trip to Oklahoma to see him. Mason had to work, so it was just me, Cale and Ollie. We stayed at my aunt Kristy's house while we were there. My grandpa was also staying there at the time. It was really nice to see him too. The trip went pretty well and it really made my dad happy to see me and 2 of his grandkids. I plan to visit him every other weekend.

Happy New Year!!!

I have finally made it to 2015!! It's taken a lot of work playing catch up, but I made it! So far the year has been great! Everyone is happy and healthy. I'm still not working which is awesome! I'm able to watch Ollie grow, take Cale to school every morning, and let Mason get the sleep that his body requires.
Cale is doing well in hockey still and I've signed him up for flag football in the spring. He sure does love sports!!! He's also learning how to read and he's doing amazing! It's crazy to see him read something, even though he's never seen the words before.
Ollie now weighs almost 12lbs. He's more alert, he babbles and he could be laughing any day now!!

Dec. 2014

December was great!! I got to quit my job!!!! It was a dream come true! I had worked for FirstLine security for exactly 9 years and 11 months. I hated that job so much.
We went and had pictures taken of Ollie. He was so good during the photo shoot! He barely cried and managed to smile for at least one picture.

My sister and her family were able to come into town for the holidays. It was so wonderful seeing all of them. Dee and Greg also came for New Years. I love watching Cale play with his cousins. We got some great pictures of Oliver and Melody together. They are 4 months apart and were so different! It's amazing how much of a difference a couple months makes.

The Big Day!!!

With my pregnancy coming close to an end, I decided to start my maternity leave two weeks before I was due (Dec. 4th). I got to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family without worrying about taking days off work. It was wonderful and so relaxing!
On Sunday Nov. 30th, I woke up at 6:30am and felt small contractions. I wasn't sure at that point if they were the real thing or not so I decided not to wake up Mason. Instead I had breakfast and did the crossword in the newspaper. At about 7:30, I decided that this was real labor and I better go to the store to pick up some groceries. Once I returned, I woke up Mason and let him know what was going on. We called the midwife at about 9 and she told me to call her every 2 hours for an update. Mason and I made the decision to have the birth at home and I was able to lie in my own bed and take a shower during early labor. My friend Marcia came over (it was her birthday!) and sat and chatted with me. At about 2:30 the contractions were getting more intense and we decided the midwife needed to come. She checked me and said I was dilated to 4cm. She left to have some dinner but said she'd stay close. Masons parents picked up Cale from his dad's house so he could be there for the birth. Cale mostly played his new video game but came to check on me periodically and give me hugs and kisses. The midwife came back around 5. Mason had filled up the pool so I sat in there for a while. It felt so awesome!! I felt the urge to push around 7:45. The pain was excruciating and I started to think I couldn't do it. But, the midwife asked if I could feel his head. When I reached down the first time I didn't feel anything. A couple pushes later I reached down again and I could feel his head!! It was amazing! It gave me strength knowing it was almost over and in another couple pushes little Oliver was born! Cale celebrated once we announced that it was a boy! He was running around and hi-fiving everyone. He was 6lbs 14oz and 20in long. He was perfect!
