Baby bunny

In the midst of all the stressfulness I mentioned in my last blog, I have come down with a mild cold. What the crap! We did all our shopping for our dinner last night because the weather took a turn for the worse today. Freezing rain and ice. Lovely.

A lady I work with gave me a little bunny suit for Cale last week. Her grandson grew out of it before it was cold enough for him to wear it. We put it on Cale and I instantly started crying because I was laughing so hard! It even has ears and a little tail. I had to take pictures of course! He couldn't move in that thing! Then, after the laughing subsided, Patrick put on a sweater that apparently had been on the hanger too long. Just look at his shoulders! It was a pretty funny night last night. Nothing else to talk about really....

So, I am pretty sure Patrick fed Cale crack while I was at work today. Just kidding! Seriously though, this child is wide awake! He is just lying in his crib talking to himself and it is almost an hour past his bedtime! I am tired. Why can't he be tired too?
I am not sure if I told anyone this, but we did end up giving Rizzo away. I don't miss her at all. I know that sounds mean but she made my life so stressful! I am more happy for her than anything. Shiner is adjusting well. He has his days that he whines alot. He does get really jealous when I play with Cale. He brings his toys over and wants me to play with him instead. It's kind of cute. Next week is going to be busy. I am hosting a Christmas Eve dinner for my family on Christmas Eve and then I need to make something for a work Christmas potluck and then a bunch of family is coming over on Saturday for a Christmas thing. Sooooo busy!!!

It could be alot worse..

Well, we went to the eye doctor today. In a nutshell, Cale has Patrick's eyes...just not as bad. He was diagnosed with ocular albinism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocular_albinism , he has nystagmus, and he is nearsighted. His eyesight cannot be corrected completly but he still might be able to drive and live a totally normal life. Only time can tell. The doctor did say that in a few months Cale will have glasses. Patrick is really upset by this news. He feels at fault and he is scared that it will be really hard when Cale gets older...kids picking on him and stuff. I tried to reassure him that technology is different and he might have thinner glasses than Patrick did. We are also going to go to a genetisist to see what our chances are of having more children with albinism. We may not have as many children as we planned but I can guarntee that Cale will have at least one sibling.

Status: healthy

Cale had his 2 month checkup today. Here are some of the stats:

His head is 15 3/4 inches around
He is 24 3/4 inches long which is in the 90th percentile of kids his age
He weighed 13 lbs 10 ounces which is also in the 90th percentile

His mother cried with him when he got his shots

He might have nystagmus
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physiologic_nystagmus) we are going to an eye doctor tomorrow, I will post when we get back

I haven't mentioned this to many people yet but we have made the decision to get rid of Rizzo. She is just too much to handle now that the baby is here. She requires so much attention that I am not able to give her anymore. She now does anything for attention...good or bad. A lady Patrick works with already has a Boxer and says she really wants another one. We are going to set up a play date at some point to make sure they get along. I feel sad because I do want to keep her but I really think she would be more happy somewhere else. Shiner is going to be very upset and lonely for awhile but I think that with Rizzo out of the picture, I will be less stressed and more apt to play. Plus, I think Cale will be Shiner's best friend before to long....

The Teutul's

So....not much going on here. I thought I'd post anyway because I haven't posted in awhile. Cale has a doctor appointment on Monday. He is getting his shots! I feel so bad for him. Oh, interesting story, the other day at work, the Teutuls from American Chopper came through my gate. They are pretty nice people. I checked one of their ID's. I don't know what else to write and I have to get ready for work.
