New Year, new me?

It has been almost 2 months since my last post...that is pretty sad. I thought that one of my New Years resolutions should be to write on my blog more. So here is an update....
Patrick had surgery on his hand in November. He punched a punching bag at his sister's house and tore some cartilage in his wrist. He is completely healed now and back at work. He feels much better.
Cale is growing like a weed. We took him to see Santa, it did not go over well. He got alot of nice things for Christmas...here are just a few things: a slide, play tent, recliner, clothes, toys, and a rocking horse. He got alot of stuff!!! The night before last, I had to take Cale to the ER. He woke up coughing really bad and it sounded like he was having trouble breathing. I took him into the bathroom and turned the shower on hot to get the room all steamy. It didn't help any so I took him to the ER. After a glorious 3 hour wait, the doctor finally came in and said he has croup. It is caused by a virus that makes the tissues of your larynx inflamed. It makes the child cough and breathe funny. The cough sounds like a seal barking. They gave him an anti-inflamatory and sent us on our way. He seems to be doing alot better now.
I have tried out for Kansas City's local roller derby team and I made tryouts! I still am not on the team yet. On Jan. 24th, they are holding a draft and they will be cutting 5 girls out of 34. I just ordered some skates and I will be picking them up on Tuesday. In order for me to make the draft, I need to be able to skate 25 laps in 5 minutes. The day of tryouts, I made it in 5:25...So, hopefully, I can shave of the extra 25 seconds.
We are in the process of getting our kitchen remodeled. I have been taking progressive pictures and I will post them when the kitchen is completely finished.
As for everything else, it couldn't be better!
I have been thinking more and more about my resoultions, and mostly, I want to not be as lazy. I want to be a little more productive around the house and with things in general, like writing my brother mostly. I hope this new year has great things...maybe alot of baking with my new KitchenAid stand mixer.....maybe even a new baby....we'll just have to see....
